Commanding Officer, 1st Force Storage Battalion
Lt. Col. Matthew S. Hall

LtCol Matthew Hall, a native of Durant, Oklahoma joined the Marine Corps in May 2003. After completing boot camp, he attended the Artillery Scout Observer course in Fort Sill, OK and the Naval Gunfire Liaison course in Coronado, CA. Receiving designation as a Forward Observer, he was assigned to Headquarters Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines in Grand Prairie, TX. During this time he was selected for the Platoon Leaders Course for commissioning.


After completing Officer Candidate School he was commissioned on May 19, 2006. Upon graduation from The Basic School and Ground Supply Officers Course, he was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines for duty as the Supply Officer. During this time, 2ndLt Hall deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. In April of 2010, 1stLt Hall was reassigned to 3rd Marine Regiment to serve as the Supply Officer.


In June 2010, 1stLt Hall was assigned as the S-4 Inspector Instructor and Supply Officer for Headquarters and Service Company, 1st Battalion, 23rd Marines. During this time Captain Hall again deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After selection and completion of the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course in 2013, Captain Hall was assigned as the Supply Officer for 8th Communication Battalion.


In June 2016, Major Hall had the privilege to serve as the Headquarters and Service Company Commander and Logistics Officer, MCCSSS. In August 2017, Major Hall was assigned as the Operations Officer for Ground Supply School where he was then subsequently selected to attend resident Command and Staff Course, Quantico. After completion, Major Hall was assigned as the Operations Officer for CLR 27. In June 2020, Major Hall was assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 26. He went on to serve as the Battalion Executive Officer for deployments on both the 26th MEU and 22nd MEU. In December 2022, LtCol Hall was assigned as the Deputy Command Inspector General for 2d MAW.

LtCol Hall's military and professional education includes a B.S. from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Ground Supply Officers Course, Tactical Logistics Officers Course, Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, Intermediate MAGTF Logistics Operations Course, and resident Command and Staff with a Masters Degree in Military Studies. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with three gold stars, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
