ADVANCED MANUFACTURING CENTER OF EXCELLENCE

WHO WE ARE

The Marine Corps Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence’s (AM COE) objective is to leverage AM technology to increase depot production, bolster supply operations, enhance expeditionary capabilities, and optimize material readiness to the Fleet Marine Force.

What We Do

The AM COE performs product design, reverse engineering, and rapid prototyping through innovation in order to maximize the readiness of our customer’s equipment. Our objective is to leverage AM technology to increase depot production,  bolster supply operations, enhance expeditionary capabilities, and optimize material readiness to the Fleet Marine Force.

Public-Private Partnerships

MDMC has entered into public-private partnerships (PPP) with commercial industry partners in order to advance additive manufacturing capabilities. Through these PPP’s, MDMC has been able to push the limits of AM by producing parts with geometries not typically seen in standard parts for military equipment.

Academia Partners

MDMC has fostered relationships with numerous partners throughout academia in order to bolster AM capabilities and provide test samples resulting in critical test data on AM material characteristics.

Some of the academia partners include:

 >> Johns Hopkins University

 >> Georgia Tech (Georgia Tech Research Institute)

 >> Naval Post-Graduate School
