THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Section 1125 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 authorizes the Secretary of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to positions in the competitive service at any domestic Defense Industrial Base Facility or Major Range and Test Facilities Base. Competitive rating and ranking of applicants is not required under the Direct Hire process.

Summary:  You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Logistics Services Management Center of the Marine Corps Logistics Command.
 
Duties:
 
  • Trusted Agent (TA) responsible for the established support to the contractor Common Access Cards (CAC) process and initiate new application, submit, validate (security record), approve, rejected or revoked and reverified contractor CACs though the Trusted Associate Sponsorship System (TASS) using DEERS Security Online.
  • Serve as Safety Officer within LSMC through training awareness and active involvement IAW 5100.8C in the efforts to reduce employee mishaps. Actively maintain and inspect safe work areas as required. Serve as Alternate Security and OPSEC Manager within the work place, needs to ensure all security protocols and PII information is maintained and handled according to policies.  Develops, coordinates, implements and executes contingency plans in support of operations such as Destructive Weather and others.
  • Conduct supply chain studies to improve organizational productivity, work operations, and work processes. Conducts staff studies and special projects to identify and resolve problems concerning logistics operations, readiness, training, and installation activities.
  • Responsible for the management, storage, issuance and disposal of equipment controlled by LSMC responsible officer (RO). Coordinates the maintenance and troubleshooting of IT equipment. Conducts necessary studies and analyses of equipment failures and determines actions necessary to improve services.
  • Serves as the Logistics staff specialist performing plans and operational support for assigned functional areas of the Operations Division. Assists LOB supervisor in the day-to-day activities to accomplish organizational mission. Incumbent receives all taskers and is responsible for staffing, effectively managing, coordinating, planning, and submitting timely responses in the manner required.
 
Travel Required:  Occasional travel – you may be expected to travel for this position.

Qualifications:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate knowledge developing, refining, and analyzing logistics policy; knowledge performing management of logistics systems and processes.  The successful candidate will have also demonstrated experience in collaboration across multiple organizations and working as part of a high functioning team.

Summary
You will serve as a Project Support Specialist in the Quality Management Center, Business Performance Division, Process Improvement Branch of the Marine Corps Logistics Command, serving as a business process analyst/ business architect for the business process management (BPM) program.
