Col. Donald W. Harlow

Colonel Harlow was born and raised in Northern Virginia. He graduated from George Mason University in 1998 and was commissioned a second lieutenant. Following The Basic School and the Ground Supply Officers Course, he reported to Combat Service Support Detachment-21 at MCAS Cherry Point for duty as the Supply Officer and Executive Officer.

In 2001, Colonel Harlow was assigned to MCB Quantico’s Logistics Division as the Plans and Operations Officer. In 2003, he deployed as an Individual Augment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he served as the Executive Officer for Combat Service Support Company-133 at Ali Al Salem, Kuwait. Upon his return to Quantico, he was appointed as the Materiel Readiness Branch Head for the Logistics Division.

From 2004 to 2005, Colonel Harlow was a student at the Expeditionary Warfare School. After graduation, he was assigned to 8th Communication Battalion at Camp Lejeune as the Supply Officer. He deployed with the battalion to Iraq in support Operation Iraqi Freedom, and upon return, was appointed as the Commanding Officer for Service Company.

From 2008 to 2010, Colonel Harlow served as the Executive Officer for Supply School at Camp Johnson. While in that assignment, he deployed to Iraq in support of the Marine Corps Center for Lessons Learned assessment of the Responsible Drawdown.

From 2010 to 2013, Colonel Harlow was assigned to the Defense Logistics Agency, Land and Maritime in Columbus, Ohio as the Deputy Division Chief for Land Customer Operations, and the Readiness Division Chief. During this time he deployed to Afghanistan as the DLA Detachment Commander in Kandahar.

From 2013 to 2014, Colonel Harlow was a student at the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth. After graduation he was assigned as the Korea Theater of Operations Planner for the III Marine Expeditionary Force, G-4. In 2015 he assumed command of 3d Supply Battalion.

From 2017 to 2018, Colonel Harlow was a student at the Marine Corps War College at Quantico. After graduation he was assigned as a Military Faculty Advisor at Marine Corps Command and Staff College. In 2020 he was assigned as the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-3, for 2d MLG at Camp Lejeune.

Colonel Harlow served as the commanding officer for Marine Force Storage Command from June 2021 to June 2024 before assuming his current position as Chief of Staff, Marine Corps Logistics Command.

Colonel Harlow holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Justice, and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (second award), Meritorious Service Medal (third award), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (third award), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (second award).
