Lieutenant Colonel Andrew J. Martin

Lieutenant Colonel Martin assumed duties as the Commander, Headquarters Battalion, Marine Corps Logistics Command, in June 2026.

Lieutenant Colonel Martin was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps in December 2008 after graduating from Officer Candidates Course. He completed The Basic School in October 2009 and subsequently attended the Ground Supply Officer Course at Camp Johnson, North Carolina, where he was designated a Ground Supply Officer.

In 2009, Lieutenant Colonel Martin reported to 3d Marine Logistics Group, where he served as Battalion Supply Officer and Headquarters and Service Company Executive Officer with 3d Medical Battalion. He later served as the Assistant Operations Officer for Combat Logistics Regiment 35. During this assignment, he supported Operation TOMODACHI in mainland Japan as the Arrival Departure Airfield Control Group Officer in Charge.

In 2013, he reported to I Marine Expeditionary Force, where he served as the Supply Officer for Headquarters Battery, 11th Marine Regiment. He later deployed forward with a Georgian Liaison Team to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, serving as a supply officer, force protection advisor, and company advisor while working alongside elements of the 4th Infantry Division and 1st Cavalry Division. During this tour, he also served as the Regimental Supply Officer for 11th Marines. Additionally, he deployed in support of Operation NEW DAWN as Aide-de-Camp to the United States Forces–Iraq J4 Director.

In 2018, Lieutenant Colonel Martin was assigned to Officer Candidates School, where he served as the Commanding Officer for Delta Company and as the Academics Officer in Charge.

In 2021, he reported to III Marine Expeditionary Force, where he served as the Materiel Readiness Branch Officer in Charge for 1st Marine Aircraft Wing G-4 and later as the G-4 Deputy for III Marine Expeditionary Force.

Lieutenant Colonel Martin is a graduate of the Expeditionary Warfare School (resident and distance education), Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and Air Force War College. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, a Master of Arts in Transportation and Logistics Management from American Military University, and a graduate certificate in National Security Studies.

Lieutenant Colonel Martin’s personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with gold star in lieu of second award, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star in lieu of second award, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal
