Executive Officer, Headquarters Battalion, MARCORLOGCOM
Maj. Scott A. Holmes

Major Scott A. Holmes assumed duties as executive officer, Headquarters Battalion, Marine Corps Logistics Command, Albany, Georgia, in July 2023.

He was commissioned in the U.S. Marine Corps upon graduation from The Citadel in 2013. He reported to The Basic School in December of the same year and subsequently attended the Adjutant’s Course at Personnel Administration School, Camp Johnson, North Carolina, in 2014. Upon graduation, he reported to 3d Marine Logistics Group, Okinawa, Japan.

In May 2014, he was promoted to first lieutenant and received orders to 3d Maintenance Battalion, 3d Marine Logistics Group, where he served as the battalion adjutant. In March 2017, he assumed command of Headquarters and Service Company, 3d Maintenance Battalion, while continuing to serve as the battalion adjutant.

In July 2017, he reported to Training Command, Quantico, Virginia, where he served as adjutant, G-1 Section. He was promoted to captain in November 2017.

In June 2018, he reported to 6th Marine Corps District, Parris Island, South Carolina, serving as the district adjutant overseeing all administration for recruiting in the Southeastern United States.

In July 2020, he completed Series Commander’s Course and reported to 3d Recruit Training Battalion, Parris Island, where he served as follow series commander, Lima Company, before returning to complete his tour at 6th Marine Corps District.

In June 2021, he reported to 5th Marine Regiment, Camp Pendleton, California, as regimental adjutant.

In March 2022, he deployed with the regiment to Marine Rotational Force–Darwin, serving as command element adjutant during the first rotation led by a regimental headquarters serving as the command element. Following the regiment’s return in October 2022, he resumed duties as regimental adjutant.

He was promoted to his current rank of major in April 2023.

Major Holmes’ personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in history from The Citadel and a Master of Arts in history for Liberty University.
