Lieutenant Colonel DiStefano assumed duties as commanding officer, 1st Force Storage Battalion, Marine Force Storage Command in June 2025.
He was commissioned a second lieutenant in 2008 upon completion of Officer Candidate School. Following graduation from The Basic School in 2009, he reported to 3rd Intelligence Battalion, Okinawa, Japan, where he completed on-the-job training while awaiting a seat at Ground Supply School. Upon graduation later that year, he was assigned as battalion supply officer, supporting multiple deployments in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, Enduring Freedom–Philippines, and Tomodachi. He also participated in Exercises Winter Surge 2009 and 2010 in Korea and represented the Marine Corps on the All-Marine Rugby Team at Fort Benning, Georgia.
In 2011, he reported to Combat Logistics Battalion 4, where he served as battalion supply officer. During this assignment, he deployed to Camp Leatherneck, Helmand Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 12.1.
In 2012, Captain DiStefano reported to 4th Marine Corps Recruiting District, New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, where he served as district supply officer. During this period, he completed the Expeditionary Warfare School (Non-Resident) and later attended the resident course at Quantico, Virginia, graduating in 2015.
In 2016, he reported to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where he served as the Marine Air-Ground Task Force supply officer. He deployed aboard USS Iwo Jima to the 5th and 6th Fleet areas of operation, supporting exercises across Europe and the Middle East and conducting real-world operations in Iraq, Syria, and Africa.
In September 2018, Major DiStefano reported to Ground Supply School, Camp Johnson, North Carolina, where he served as operations officer and later as executive officer. During this tour, he taught classes for supply officers-in-training, led the Training and Readiness review for the 3002 occupational specialty, and developed a mentorship program to enhance leadership skills for Marine Corps supply officers. He concurrently completed Marine Corps Command and Staff College (Non-Resident).
In January 2021, he reported to the Australian War College, Canberra, Australia, where he attended the Australian Command and Staff College and earned a Master of Arts in military and defense studies from the Australian National University.
In January 2022, he reported to Combat Logistics Battalion 3, Oahu, Hawaii, where he served as company commander, General Support Company. In the summer of 2022, CLB-3 was re-designated as 3rd Littoral Logistics Battalion and transferred to 3rd Marine Division. He led more than 100 Marines and Sailors in support of 11 major exercises across the Indo-Pacific region.
In July 2024, he reported to Marine Forces Pacific Command, where he served in the G-4 as lead planner for operational logistics in Southeast Asia. In this role, he advanced Marine Corps prepositioning program objectives in the Philippines, supported experimentation with emerging technologies such as the Stern Landing Vessel, and enhanced cooperation with the Singapore Armed Forces.
Lieutenant Colonel DiStefano holds a Bachelor of Science in education from Shippensburg University and a Master of Arts in military and defense studies from the Australian National University.
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with three gold stars, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
