Lt. Col. Jason A. Paredes

Jason Antonio Paredes enlisted in the Marine Corps on December 15, 2003. He attended Recruit Training in Parris Island, Marine Combat Training on Camp Geiger and was assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 274 where he served as the Administrative Chief, Postal Clerk, and Legal Clerk. He deployed to operation IRAQI FREEDOM 05-07 aboard Al Asad Air Base. He was meritorious promoted to the ranks of Corporal and Sergeant and graduated with his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Park University, Cum Laude, in December 2005. Sergeant Paredes was selected for Officer Candidate Course 195 through the Enlisted Commissioning Program.

He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in August 2007. He attended The Basic School with Fox Company 6-07 and was assigned as a Ground Supply Officer.

Second Lieutenant Paredes reported to 2d Intelligence Battalion in April 2008 and served as the Headquarters Company Commander (Force Generation Element), S-4A, Supply and Fiscal Officer. He temporarily detached to II Marine Expeditionary Force, Headquarters Group, Military Transition Team 0130. He was promoted to First Lieutenant in August 2009 and deployed in support of operation IRAQI FREEDOM 10-01 in Mosul, Iraq as the Logistics Advisor for the 3d Quick Reaction Force Brigade, 1st Iraqi Army Division.

First Lieutenant Paredes transferred to 2d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion in December 2010 for duty as the Supply and Fiscal Officer. He deployed in support of operation ENDURING FREEDOM 11-02 to Forward Operating Base Payne, Afghanistan and was promoted to the rank of Captain in October 2011.

In June 2012, Captain Paredes was assigned to Recruiting Station Fort Lauderdale. He served as the Operations and Executive Officer. He was subsequently selected to attend the resident Logistics Captains Career Course in Fort Lee, VA where he graduated with distinction. He also began his course work for his Masters degree in Logistics Management from Florida Institute of Technology.

Captain Paredes then served as the Command Element Supply Officer and Logistics Planner for the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit from March 2016 to August 2017.  He deployed as part of WESTPAC 16-2 and supported operation INHERENT RESOLVE and operation OAKEN STEEL.

In September 2017, he was promoted to the rank of Major and transferred to the 1st Marine Logistics Group where he served as the Deputy AC/S G-4 through June 2018. He then served as the Supply Company Commander, 1st Supply Battalion through June 2019. He subsequently attended resident Marine Corps Command and Staff College and graduated in 2020 with his master’s degree in military studies.

In June 2020 he was assigned to Blount Island Command where he served as the Supply Branch Head and Supply Management Unit OIC.

In July 2023 he transferred to U.S. Marine Corps Forces Central Command as the Sustainment Branch Head and was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in August 2023.

His military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (Gold star in lieu of second award), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Gold star in lieu of third award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Gold star in lieu of second award), Combat Action Ribbon and the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal.
