Headquarters Group (HQ GRP), Marine Corps Logistics Command conducted a change of command ceremony during which Lt. Col. Latresa A. Steward relinquished command to Lt. Col. Michael F. Manning at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Ga., Aug 4.

MARCORLOGCOM established HQ GRP as a command in 2020.  In that historic moment, Steward became the first official commanding officer of the unit.

HQ GRP is comprised of approximately 150 Marines that serve in the MARCORLOGCOM headquarters, Marine Force Storage Command, and Marine Depot Maintenance Command.

The change of command ceremony signifies a formal transfer of authority and responsibility for a unit from one officer to another.  About 100 Marines, civilian-Marines, family and friends attended the ceremony that was held in a storage facility.

Col. Craig C. Clemans, Chief of Staff, Marine Corps Logistics Command, presided over the ceremony.

Steward will next begin a Skillbridge internship with Grace City Church, Albany, Ga., and is excited to remain in southwest Ga. with her family.

Manning comes from Marine Forces Pacific where he served as the Future Operations Branch Head, Future Operations Directorate, G3.

Welcome aboard Lt. Col. Manning, and fair winds and following seas Lt. Col. Steward!
