MARCORLOGCOM Hosts Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation Students

Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (WHINSEC) Joint Logistics and Security Assistance Course students visit MARCORLOGCOM.

WHINSEC provides professional education and training to military, civilian and law enforcement personnel from eligible nations of the Western Hemisphere. The touring class consisted of two dozen service members from eight countries in Central and South America. 

The Joint Logistics and and Security Assistance Course prepares security force service members to function in assignments that involve defense logistics planning, purchasing US materials and training, and Joint, Interagency, Intergovenrmental, Multinational (JIIM) logistics supporting a full range of operations.

Hosting the WHINSEC Joint Logistics and Security Assistance class members directly supports a key tenet of the National Defense Strategy to promote Security Cooperation programs that foster partner interoperability, capability development, and alliances.

Students toured Marine Depot Maintenance Command's Production Plant Albany, Marine Force Storage Command facilities, and received briefs on LOGCOM's mission, capabilities and essential tasks while at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Ga., Feb. 24.
