Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Ga. -- Marine Corps Logistics Command (MARCORLOGCOM) Marine Expeditionary Force Support Team (MST) Civilian-Marines returned to Albany, Ga. in order to complete thier annual command synchronization.
The MSTs are MARCORLOGCOM liaison officers that are embed with the three Marine Expeditionary Forces (MEF) and Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES).
Troy A. Kaczmarski, liaison officer to II MEF, describes his role as MARCORLOGCOM's primary point of contact with the fleet Marines. "I work to ensure that the MEF is connected to MARCORLOGCOM when and where needed", said Kaczmarski.
The MST's annual visit lasts about a week and includes a variety of tours and briefs. The small group toured Marine Forces Storage Command (MFSC) facilities and operations, and received a brief on MFSC's 5G Smart Warehouse initiative.
Marine Depot Maintenance Command gave a tour of Production Plant Albany, including a demonstration of the Advanced Manufaccturing Center of Excellence.
Historically, the MSTs return to Albany annually. However, this event had been adversly impacted by COVID-19, and the trip was severely overdue.
"In order to improve our liaison to the Fleet, we need this sychronization", explained Nelson M. Broughton III, liaison officer to MARFORRES. "Seeing what is currently happening, meeting key MARCORLOGCOM individuals and leaders, that is important to us. Bringing all uf us together for the week, that enables the MSTs to connect the MEF to MARCORLGCOM." said Broughton.
