Marine Corps Logistics Command, Albany GA - Marine Corps Logistics Command is currently working to harness emerging 5G technologies at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Georgia. These technologies, which aim to increase the efficiency and safety of warehouse operations, currently consist of optical character recognition, autonomous inventory, voice to text data collection, robot enabled inventory, and blockchain powered analytics. In October 2019, Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany was selected by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense as one location in the first round of bases to host the Department of Defense’s 5G testing and experimentation. MCLB Albany’s current 5G prototype efforts are a critical enabler to advanced and innovative warehousing capabilities.
